What branch of the Government do you contact to report abuse by a credit card company?

Usually the Federal Trade Commission, if that is not right, the FTC will usually refer you to the government organization, such as the Comptroller of Currency, that regulates the bank or credit card company in question. You can also contact the your state’s banking department. You need to put in a copy of the front and back of your check and your credit card statement showing the amount of the credit on your statement differed from the amount of your check. I do not know enough about it, but how would you prove the payment was not credited when the bank received it unless you have a bank receipt or some other receipt from the credit card company saying they got the check? Also you could try the Better Business Bureau. I would try resolving the dispute with the bank first.

Skiing or snowboarding, which is the one you prefer?

I prefer Skiing just because its much easier to maneuver than a snowboard which takes time and practice to shift your body with ur legs strap to one piece of board. Unlike snowboarding, skiing doesn’t have limitations to the variety of competition/courses one might try. Things like: ski jumping, cross country skiing, and the classic left to right alpine sking. Now have you heard of snowboard jumping or alpine boarding? didn’t think so.

Don’t give me wrong, In retrospect, I like watching people snowboard do tricks and such. And thats how its presented and advertised to: Young adults who are “cool” and that say things like “Duude” and “righteous man”.

Statistically around the world, a lot more people are skiing than are snowboarding. When it comes down to originality and cold weathered activities; Skiing my prefered one.

What is the minimum percentage the IRS will accept on an offer in compromise(OIC)?

It’s not really about percentages when it comes to OIC’s. Each case is individual and is treated individually. It’s not really about percentages when it comes to OIC’s. Each case is individual and is treated individually. Be warned that an Offer is sometimes difficult to get accepted, and can sometimes be a long, drawn-out process. In addition, because so many of them end up being frivilous, the IRS has changed their rules, so that you have to submit $150 with your application just to apply.

There has to be clear proof that either you are not responsible for the taxes, there is little chance of them being able to collect based on your income and future expected income, or if you pay, it would cause great economic hardship on you.

If you pull up Form 656 at www.irs.gov (click on forms and publications), there is a worksheet in the instructions that gives you an idea of what a reasonable offer would be. Make sure your offer is reasonable or else it will be rejected automatically.

If you can’t go the OIC route, perhaps setting up an installment agreement would be the best bet. There are also other options for paying your liability. If in the end you either don’t feel comfortable filing the OIC yourself, or it is rejected, see a tax professional who specializes, or at least has experience, in delinquent payers.

Some ferrets, especially if they are younger like yours, are very mouthy. They are like babies…they taste everything to get a feel for it, and biting is kind of their way to check you out and is also their way of being playful. They don’t realize they are hurting you because a ferret’s skin is thicker than ours and so when they bite their jaw strength is stronger than they think.

The most effective way to get them to stop is by scruffing them when they bite. Everytime she bites, grab her by the scruff of her neck, give her a firm, brisk (but gentle) shake, and go “NO!” It might take some time, but eventually she’ll get the idea. I finally got my female trained out of that habit months after I got her and I’m working on one of my males now.

If that doesn’t work try getting some bitter apple and putting it on your hand and arm when you play with her. The stuff will taste bad to her and she’ll get the idea. But nip training does take time with ferrets so be prepared to spend at least a few months with the scruffing method before going this route.

Codependency is an addiction to helping someone, an addiction to being needed. This addiction is sometimes so strong, the codependent will cause the other person to continue to be needy. This behavior is called enabling. The enabler will purposefully overlook someone abusing a child, will call in sick for someone suffering from addiction, will put roadblocks to prevent their child from becoming independent, or even keep a sick family member from getting the treatment that would make them well. A codependent will even sabotage a person’s diet when they are trying to lose weight by bringing them tastey food and telling them they look just fine. A codependent often sees problems with everyone else and sees himself as the only person who can help.

You even have to be careful of a therapist who is like that and it is surprisingly common. A codependent counselor will never think your sessions are done. In fact, they often create issues that weren’t there just so they can continue to feel they’re an , essential part of your life. If you are looking for a therapist, make sure your first interview sets up goals to meet and schedules the sessions ahead of time with an end in mind.

there is not really any way to improve your eyesight or “reduce your power”. glasses dont do this, contacts dont do it, eye exercises dont do it, looking thru little holes doesnt do it.

there is promise in slowing the *progression* of myopia using a procedure called “accelerated orthokeratology”:

http://www.clspectrum.com/article.aspx?article=100420

www.ortho-k.net

the glasses with the little holes in them are called “pinhole” glasses. they do not work for “reducing your power”, either. they only help you see a little better when you have them on. they work on a known optical phenomenon called “the pinhole effect” in which nearly all refractive errors can be minimalized by eliminating “paraxial” light rays.

lol oh no haha you might be eating some nasty food if you don’t say how you feel :P
ok ok, personally i might feel offended if someone tells me that my cooking sucks after i spent an hour in the kitchen, but at the same time i would feel bad subjecting someone to nasty tasting food if it is that it really does taste bad!!
what i will suggest you do is join her in the kitchen, if you can cook and you know what you like why not cook together one night?
some of us don’t know the basics and some of us don’t really have it in us to cook very well but that doesn’t mean we can’t right?
so join in on the festivities, cook together show her what you like to eat and how to cook it in a way that doesn’t suggest that she can’t do it on her own…(for instance let her be the sous chef - sometimes we need to see it done to know how it is done..know what i mean?)
that way you get closer cuz you are doing something together, and your are creating something that you both contributed to
i mean it’s worth a try - then again you can always say don’t cook!! are you trying to kill me? haha but I won’t suggest it…

New Orleans Questions?

It is safe for everyone to visit New Orleans (and to live here) as long as they avoid buying or selling crack cocaine. There were never “Katrina victims begging for money” on the streets in New Orleans. Where did you get this idea?

You will see some people standing along main streets, holding signs that say things like”Will work for food” or “Homeless Vet”. Almost none of them are from New Orleans or lived here when Katrina struck. Almost all of them are from somewhere else, and all of them have psychological and/or substance abuse problems. Every city in America is trying to cope with the issue of “street people”, and NOLA is not different.

Physical changes are those that you can do manually, like mixing nuts, raisins and seeds to make trail mix. The ingredients in the mixture retain their own physical and chemical properties and the ingredients in the mixturecan be separated out by physical means. It doesn’t take a chemical reaction to do this.

Chemical changes are those in which different elements are, for instance, chemically bonded together and cannot be separated unless the bonds between them are broken in a chemical reaction. A physical reaction can’t break chemical bonds. Also, when 2 or more elements are bonded to form a compound, the properties of the compound (ie..boiling or melting points) are different than the properties of the individual elements that make up the compound. For example from the periodic table the halogens in group 17 when combined with water make acids. So chlorine + water = hydrochloric acid and oxygen gas. In order to separate the H and Cl you need another chemical reaction like adding sodium oxide. The bonds between H and Cl will be broken to form sodium chloride (salt) and water. This cannot be accomplished by any physical means.
